The weirdness continues. New Zealand was hit last night by a 7.5 earthquake and we all seem to have felt it (apart from my stepfather ).
The day will be spent putting books back and assessing the need for a more secure bookshelf. I think I know the answer.
Two casualties, many roads broken up and lot of nervous people. We are lucky to have a good infrastructure and Radio New Zealand to share sensible information and good background news.
Central Wellington, I gather, is in bad shape in some parts. Glass windows and the odd glass ceiling. Eh?
We are all upgrading our earthquake grab bags.

Hope you are ok otherwise – I did immediately think of you when I heard the news but it seemed mostly nearer the sea and up the Hutt valley. And for another great loss to all of us, Marti Friedlander has died. So sad, but a rich and wonderful store she has left behind.
