There’s nothing like waking at 4.00 a.m. listening to the storm outside, grabbing the torch and edging out to the kitchen.
It was cold this morning, but I am lucky enough to have spare duvets, warm merino socks and a new hoodie. By 7 a.m ish when it was light I was able to watch the storm. Until then I listened on and off to the radio.
Two hours later I checked outside.
Almost all my tall trees are down, one on the neighbour’s guttering. The favourite plum had gone but overall it’s not too bad.
My back garden looks like this right now.
