When I first heard of Amy Winehouse all I really knew was the song “Rehab” and the stories of addictions and messiness.
My job entails me looking on YouTube for things (honestly) and for information about (in this case) addictions.
And there I heard her sing “Will you still love me tomorrow”. And so I wandered around the web and bought two CDs, one being this, which is a fund-raiser for the Amy Winehouse Trust.
And, belatedly, I’m loving the jazzy songs, the phrasing, the intensity, the round wholesome brass sections she uses and the great songs: Valerie, Lullaby of Birdland, Our day will come To know him is to love him and Just friends and Wake up alone”………
