last one

In January a lucky work visit got me to see two good friends and my favourite aunt in Christchurch.

The aunt was looking great having turned 90 last year. She was always my favourite, just as my cousin is my closest cousin. Our lives could hardly have been more different in regard to marriages, children, travel, work and philosophy but we appear to be fond of one another.

Aunt Pearl died last night, so I’m off to say goodbye. She’s the last of that generation, both sides.
